- Distance Learning - Marketing and Consumer Behavior - Business Communications - Integrated Marketing Communications in Healthcare
This program will provide you with an overall orientation of the business skills needed to successfully manage the operations and functions of your healthcare organization or medical practice and will allow you to participate actively in its strategic success. This program is designed to teach the business skills that will help you to run a department, managing the challenges of a modern practice (private or academic), attain some of the language and perspective of the other side of the table and sharpen your entrepreneurial skills, or it can be taken purely for your self-edification.
All credits are awarded upon completion of the entire program (i.e., following the last session on February 9-10, 2013). Credits earned will be applied to the year 2013.
Participants must attend ALL sessions to receive CME credit and certificate. Missed sessions must be made-up the following year to claim CME credit and certificate. CME credit will be awarded for the year of completion.
Course Schedule
The CBA program will be presented through a mixture of live, on-site sessions and distance learning modules on DVD-ROM which are in Microsoft PowerPoint format. To enhance the learning experience with the interaction of fellow students, the CBA faculty will offer the course materials and list serves via the Internet to complement the on-site learning modules.

Login to the Education Center after each session to complete the evaluation. The course will be listed on your home page under “My Courses in Progress”. Credit can be claimed at the end of the final session in 2013.

Learning Objectives:
After successfully completing this activity, the learner will be able to:
- Assess personal leadership skills in relation to the requirement and types of leadership;
- Discuss basic concepts of accounting and financial analysis;
- Develop a budget plan and integrate it in the management of an organization;
- Evaluate compliance and organizational issues, regulatory and other legal constraints, and interrelationships within the healthcare industry;
- Identify and effectively use communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution techniques in a group-based environment;
- Optimize contracting, fee schedule analysis and negotiation strategies through an understanding of basic managed care and integrated delivery system precepts;
- Evaluate compliance and organizational issues, regulatory and other legal constraints, and interrelationships within the healthcare industry;
- Develop a marketing plan for your organization through a basic understanding of the principles of marketing;
- Evaluate business communications and technical report writing;
- Describe the role of promotional strategy in healthcare services marketing.
